Asics began as Onitsuka Co. on September 1, 1949.
Shortly after a range of sporting activities widened
to a variety of Olympic styles used throughout
the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s by athletes the world over.
Onitsuka became known for its Mexico 66 design
,which is now synonymous with the brand, In 1977,
Onitsuka Tiger merged with GTO and JELENK to
form the Asics Corporation. |
